Ask the guests to be the interviewers

I love it when a format removes the professional interviewer and replaces it with a peer of some kind. Although you lose (usually) the chance the interviewer will ask tough questions, you gain a real intimacy and energy.

Change the setting

Whether you're in a cab or on a tandem, getting out of the studio and changing the setting adds interest and can lead to unusual outcomes.
